Mountz electric screwdrivers replace operator feel with a controlled, repeatable electric torque screwdriver on every joint, from micro fasteners on a PCB to 50 N·m on equipment frames. The range covers clutch screwdrivers, brushless models, DC-controlled current-control and transducerized systems, and robotic spindles for automation. Phil Industries, an authorised Mountz distributor in Singapore, supplies the full electric screwdriver line with controllers, transformers, on-site demonstrations and after-sales support.
Four ways to control torque electrically
An electric torque screwdriver is only as good as the way it stops. The table below shows how each Mountz family stops, what it records, and where Singapore lines use it.
| Family | How torque is controlled | What you get | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clutch electric screwdrivers (BL, BLG, CL, E-DRIV, VB) | Mechanical clutch set with a key, then the motor shuts off | Repeatable torque at a low cost per station; BLG-BC1 adds a screw counter | EMS, appliance and general assembly |
| Current-control DC screwdrivers (EC, MD, Mini MD) | Controller sets torque and speed electronically and stores presets | Programs, screw counting, error-proofing I/O, SD-card records | Multi-product lines, audited assembly |
| Transducerized screwdrivers (ECT, EPT cordless, Mini MDT) | A torque transducer inside the tool measures every fastening | Measured torque and angle per joint, ±5% accuracy, Cp and Cpk | Semiconductor equipment, aerospace, medical devices |
| Automation screwdrivers (AD, HD, CLF, NFA, BFA) | Spindle driven by a controller under PLC command | Fast cycle times, sequence programs, OK/NG signals | Robot cells, gantries, fixed stations |
Which electric screwdriver for your line?
- First, decide what evidence your quality system needs. A clutch tool gives repeatable torque; a current-control tool adds counts and pass/fail; a transducerized tool records the measured torque itself.
- Next, check the torque band. Clutch tools cover the low-to-mid band up to about 12 N·m, the current-control EC and MD families reach 49 N·m, the EPT cordless transducerized screwdrivers reach 24 N·m in pistol grip and 50 N·m in right angle, and the ECT corded family reaches 57 N·m.
- Then choose the form: in-line for vertical work on a torque arm, pistol grip for hand-held bench work, right angle for recessed joints, robotic for automation.
- Finally, pair the correct controller or transformer. Each Mountz series has its own; for example, EC tools need the ECD controller and MD tools the MDC v2.
Adjustable torque electric screwdrivers
Every Mountz electric screwdriver is adjustable within its band. Clutch models adjust with a key on the tool, whereas DC-control models adjust from the controller and can hold several presets at once. Therefore an adjustable torque electric screwdriver for a mixed-model line is usually a current-control or transducerized tool with a bit socket tray selecting the preset automatically.
Supporting equipment
We also supply the transformers, cables and accessories that each screwdriver needs, tool balancers and torque arms that take the weight off the operator, and torque analyzers so you can verify tool output in-house. Frequently asked questions about electric screwdrivers
What is the difference between an electric screwdriver and an electric torque screwdriver?
A consumer electric screwdriver just spins. An electric torque screwdriver stops at a set torque, by clutch or by controller, and repeats that value on every fastener. All Mountz electric screwdrivers on this page are torque-controlled.
Do I need a controller?
Clutch screwdrivers run from a matching transformer. Current-control, transducerized and automation screwdrivers need their series controller, which stores the programs and records the data. We quote the pair together.
Which models are ESD safe?
Many Mountz electric screwdrivers, including the Mini MD and Mini MDT micro-torque tools, are built as ESD-safe tools for use inside an EPA. Confirm the model with us and ground the tool in line with IEC 61340-5-1.
Can you demonstrate an electric torque screwdriver in Singapore?
Yes. Our Singapore-based engineers bring the tool and controller to your line, run your actual joint, and help you choose the torque band, form and controller before you buy.
