Cleanroom Hand Tools

What is the difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel cleanroom tools?

Grade 316 contains molybdenum and grade 304 does not. That gives 316 much better resistance to chlorides and to sterilisation chemistry such as VHP, hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid. Use 304 in general, lower-exposure areas. Specify 316 for anything used inside the aseptic process zone. Our 316 stainless steel cleanroom hand tools are supplied in 316 throughout.

Are 316 stainless steel cleanroom tools fully autoclavable?

Yes. They are validated for thousands of steam-sterilisation cycles, typically at 132°C, and tolerate VHP, hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid and liquid disinfectants. The tools are solid stainless with no coating to blister or shed particles.

Can I use stainless steel cleanroom tools for high-torque fastening?

No. Grade 316 is optimised for corrosion resistance, not strength. Keep these tools to low-torque work — cleanroom assembly, adjustment and maintenance. Never use them to strike or pry. For controlled high torque, use a calibrated torque tool rated for the job.

Do you supply GMP-compliant cleanroom hand tools in Singapore?

Yes. We supply to order, and every delivery includes an EN 10204 3.1 material certificate (heat number and full 316 composition), a LOT-referenced Certificate of Conformance and an ASTM A967 passivation certificate. The range meets recognised standards including ANSI/AAMI ST79, DIN 285, DIN 58950 Pharma, ISO 11345 and FDA 21 CFR cGMP.

What sizes of 316 cleanroom wrenches and hex keys are available?

Combination wrenches, open-end wrenches and ball-end ‘L’ hex keys are listed in common metric sizes, with straight hex drivers on request. Every size is made to order. Send us your size list and quantities for a quotation.
