Air balancer or spring balancer?
The Mountz range is spring-based, which suits tools up to about 120 kg with no compressed-air supply to the balancer itself. The air hose reel model combines a spring balancer with the air line for pneumatic tools, which is what most Singapore buyers mean by an air balancer for a screwdriver station. How to size a tool balancer
- First, weigh the tool with its bit, cable or hose, because the balancer must carry the whole assembly.
- Next, choose a model whose range places that weight near the middle, so the adjustment screw has room in both directions.
- Then check the stroke: 1.3 – 2 m on most models, which suits a standard bench height under a rail or gantry.
- Finally, mount it on a Mountz production aid rail or a torque arm, and add a safety cable where the tool hangs over the product.
