ESDpro Back-to-Back ESD Workbench
A back-to-back ESD workbench puts two working positions on one shared frame. Because the two benches share a spine, they take roughly the floor area of one and a half. Consequently, you fit more operators into the same bay. Meanwhile, a shared upper shelf serves both sides.

Firstly, the sizes above are what we hold as standard. However, anything outside that list is built to order. So if the bay is an awkward width, simply send us the dimension and we will quote to it.

How to ground a back-to-back ESD workbench
A bench only protects boards once you bond it to earth. In practice, you run a ground cord from the worktop to a common point ground. That point then ties back to the building’s equipment ground. Meanwhile, wrist straps and floor mats plug into the same point. As a result, the operator, the surface and the board all sit at one potential.
Afterwards, test the path with a resistance meter. Then re-test on the schedule your ESD programme sets. Both IEC 61340-5-1 and ANSI/ESD S20.20 cover how often. Where a back-to-back ESD workbench saves floor space
Production lines where floor space costs more than benches. Typically, assembly and test cells run this layout down the centre of a bay. Similarly, packing and kitting suit it. However, if operators need privacy or the work is noisy, separate benches are kinder.
Common questions
Can I order a size that is not on the list?
Yes. Simply send us the worktop length and depth you need. Furthermore, we quote custom sizes at the same lead time as standard ones.
How much weight will it hold?
Between 100 kg and 300 kg, spread evenly across the top. However, the exact figure depends on the frame and worktop you pick. Therefore, tell us what you plan to put on it and we will confirm.
Can the two sides be specified differently?
Yes. For example, one side can take drawers while the other takes a tool panel. Therefore, send us what each operator does and we will quote the two sides separately.
