An ESD vacuum cleaner earths the static it generates instead of storing it. Phil Industries is an authorised Atrix distributor in Singapore, supplying anti-static HEPA and ULPA vacuums for electronics assembly, semiconductor lines, cleanrooms and printer servicing — ex-stock from Ubi.

⚡ Why a shop vac fails in an EPA
Air moving through a plastic hose generates charge. A standard vacuum has nowhere to send it, so the nozzle becomes the most charged object on your bench.
An ESD-safe unit solves this three ways:
- Dissipative housing — the body does not hold charge
- Grounded hose — charge drains to earth as you work
- Sealed filtration — captured particles stay captured
🧪 Filtration at a glance
Particle capture efficiency by filter grade
| Standard shop vac | ~80% at 1 µm |
|---|---|
| HEPA (EN 1822 H13) | 99.97% at 0.3 µm |
| ULPA (EN 1822 U15) | 99.9995% at 0.12 µm |
Bars are scaled for readability. Efficiency classes follow EN 1822-1 test methods.

❓ Common questions
Is a toner vacuum the same as an ESD vacuum?
Closely related. Both are anti-static and sealed, but toner units add a large tank and filtration tuned for fine polymer powder. An ESD vacuum without that filtration will blow toner straight back out.
What is an antistatic vacuum cleaner?
Another name for the same thing. The housing is dissipative and the hose is grounded, so cleaning does not charge the surface you are cleaning.
Can I use a normal HEPA vacuum in an EPA?
No. HEPA describes what the filter traps, not whether the machine generates static. You need both.
Do you stock these in Singapore?
Yes. The range is held ex-stock in Ubi with same-day quotation and delivery across Singapore.
