Mountz FG ESD Preset Torque Screwdrivers
Mountz FG ESD Preset Torque Screwdrivers are static-dissipative preset drivers engineered and assembled in Silicon Valley for ESD-protected assembly lines. Torque range suitable for micro, low, and medium torque applications.
Designed for an ESD-safe environment with sensitive electronic components and assemblies, the Mountz ESD screwdriver adheres strictly to IEC standards, safeguarding against electrostatic energy and ensuring the utmost protection for delicate electronics. The tool features dynamic wear-resistant internal seals as an added protective measure to prevent grease leakage and contamination from infiltrating sensitive areas or components.
Preset torque screwdrivers improve productivity by consistently applying the correct torque value to each fastener. They are ideal for fastening applications where operators repeatedly assemble parts at the same torque setting. A preset screwdriver doesn’t have an external torque adjustment scale. These tools have an internal torque adjustment mechanism for setting the torque value and preset using a hex key and a torque analyzer.
The locking mechanism prevents accidental torque setting changes. Designed for industries where production errors aren’t acceptable, poka-yoke torque screwdrivers prevent over-torque events.
Quality-minded engineers can give Mountz FG tools to any operator and have the confidence that they will deliver the correct torque, time after time.
ESD Environment:
- Equipped with anti-static properties, the ESD screwdrivers effectively minimize static electricity generation and particle attraction.
- ESD safe tool prevents electrostatic discharge — high-grade dissipative coating maintains a surface resistance within the range of 10⁵ to 10⁸ Ohms, ensuring compliance with ESD standards (Methods: IEC 61340-5-1, ANSI/ESD STM11.13)
- Features dynamic wear-resistant internal seals as an added protective measure to prevent grease leakage and contamination from infiltrating sensitive areas or components.
- Low-impact poka-yoke torque screwdriver prevents over-torque and vibration on sensitive components and delivers repeatability, traceability, and precision for all tightening applications.
- Preset screwdriver reduces the risk of operator tampering and ensures that the operator consistently applies the correct torque value to each fastener.

Description
Mountz FG ESD preset torque screwdrivers give an ESD-protected assembly line one tool that controls both hazards at once: a static-dissipative body that drains charge safely and a cam-over clutch that releases at the preset torque so the fastener cannot be over-tightened. Phil Industries, an authorised Mountz distributor in Singapore, supplies the FG ESD range with preset values, calibration certificates, on-site demonstrations and after-sales support.

Where the FG ESD Preset Torque Screwdrivers fit in Singapore
Singapore EMS plants, semiconductor equipment builders and medical device lines run their fastening inside an EPA under ANSI/ESD S20.20 or IEC 61340-5-1. On those benches an ordinary torque screwdriver is a compliance gap, because the tool body and the operator are part of the discharge path. The FG ESD closes that gap without giving up torque control: the preset clutch protects threads on plastic housings and PCB standoffs, the colour code stops operators picking up the wrong preset, and the dissipative body keeps the bench audit clean. For micro fasteners below 35 cN·m, the compact FG Mini ESD is the lighter choice; for ISO Class 5 cleanrooms, see the FG Cleanroom version.

Frequently asked questions about FG ESD preset torque screwdrivers
Are Mountz FG ESD screwdrivers compliant with IEC 61340-5-1?
Yes. The FG ESD range is built as a static-dissipative tool with surface resistance in the 10⁵ to 10⁸ Ω range and is tested to IEC 61340-5-1 and ANSI/ESD STM11.13, which is what an ANSI/ESD S20.20 programme requires of hand tools used inside an EPA.
What torque range do FG ESD preset torque screwdrivers cover?
Six bands from 2 cN·m to 14.1 N·m: FG-25z, FG-50z, FG-8i, FG-20i, FG-40i and FG-125i ESD. Choose the band that places your target torque near the middle of its range.
What is the difference between the FG ESD and the standard FG preset screwdriver?
The mechanism, accuracy and torque bands are the same. The ESD version adds a static-dissipative body and handle so the tool can be used on a grounded ESD bench without carrying charge to the component.
Can operators change the torque setting?
No. FG ESD screwdrivers are preset internally with a setting tool and have no external scale, so the value stays where the tool room set it. The colour-coded label identifies the preset on the line.
How often should the preset be verified?
Most Singapore quality systems verify hand torque tools on a torque analyzer at a fixed interval, and ISO 6789 suggests recalibration at 5,000 cycles or 12 months, whichever comes first. Our guide on how often torque tools need calibration explains how to set the interval.
Can Phil Industries demonstrate the FG ESD screwdriver in Singapore?
Yes. Phil Industries is an authorised Mountz distributor in Singapore. Our engineers can bring the tool to your ESD bench, help you choose the torque band and preset value, and quote with a calibration certificate. Call +65 6555 1745, WhatsApp +65 9853 9030 or email sales@phil-industries.com.sg.

Error-Proofing
-
-
- Engineered with a cam-over mechanism, the poka-yoke torque screwdrivers reduce the possibility of operator error in both fastening directions, ensuring correct torque is applied and preventing fastener breakage.
- Providing the operator with a preset tool prevents tampering and ensures that operators always use the appropriate torque setting—unmatched security of the tamper-proof internal adjustment. No external adjustment scale—must be preset using a torque analyzer.
-
Process Improvement
-
-
- Preset torque screwdrivers are ideal for production applications where consistent torque is critical. The screwdrivers are commonly used for precision fastening tasks where operators must consistently apply the same torque setting for each part. Preset torque screwdrivers offer greater consistency and repeatability, reducing the risk of operator error.
-
Ergonomics
-
-
- Ergonomic handles are designed with fewer flutes and larger recesses to make the tools easier to hold, and less likely to cause hand fatigue.
-
Advanced Technology
-
-
- Mountz torque unique bearing system eliminates axial load and sideloads on the fastener applied by the operator.
- Mountz tools use a patented secure bit locking mechanism with a one-touch release so that the operator can activate it to enable greater flexibility of applications and efficiency on the line.
- Reduced bit wear lowers the incidence of bits falling out, which can slow production or cause product damage.
- The new design improves serviceability, reduces downtime, and enables the replacement of individual parts to extend the life of your investment.
- The tool can be calibrated and operational in either the CW or CCW direction. (FG-ESD screwdriver default configuration: Torque Direction Arrow is engraved in CW direction on the tool. Mountz preset service option is conducted in the CW direction). Request a quote for an application that requires CCW calibration and CCW Torque Direction Arrow on the FG-ESD tool.
