ESD cleanroom fabric in navy blue: 98% polyester, 2% carbon fibre in a 5 mm grid, 101 gsm 1/2 twill, surface resistivity 10⁶–10⁹ Ω, friction charge under 150 V. A light, low-linting cloth for Class 100 to 1000 cleanroom garments. ESDpro AF0035, supplied by the roll from Ubi, Singapore.

Description

ESDpro AF0035 is a light ESD cleanroom fabric: a 101 gsm 1/2 twill of 98% polyester with a 2% carbon-fibre 5 mm grid, rated for Class 100 to 1000 rooms. It is the twill-weave companion to AF0036 and comes in navy blue with other colours to order. Phil Industries supplies it by the roll from Ubi, Singapore.

Why a 1/2 twill at 101 gsm

A 1/2 twill drapes more softly than a 1/1 weave, so a coverall in AF0035 is a little more comfortable to move in, while the 101 gsm weight and dense polyester yarn still keep particles inside the garment. Its friction charge stays under 150 V, and the 5 mm carbon grid keeps the cloth at 10⁶ to 10⁹ Ω. As a result, it meets the same Class 100 to 1000 target as AF0036 with a slightly softer hand.

The polyester base launders without shrinking, and the carbon is woven in rather than coated, so the property lasts the life of the garment. In addition, navy makes critical-area garments easy to tell apart from white general-area coveralls.

Frequently asked questions

AF0035 or AF0036?

Both are Class 100 to 1000 grid cloths in navy at about 100 gsm. AF0035 is a 1/2 twill with a softer drape; AF0036 is a 1/1 twill with a slightly tighter face. Ask for swatches of both.

Can garments in it be qualified under ANSI/ESD S20.20?

Yes. The cloth sits in the dissipative range, so garments qualify when you test them to ANSI/ESD STM2.1 or IEC 61340-4-9. Test the finished garment as made.

How should it be laundered?

On a cleanroom laundry cycle without fabric softener. The carbon is woven in, so the property is permanent.
