Where the MD-Series Pistol Grip Electric Screwdrivers fit in Singapore
The pistol grip MD models span 1–49 N·m and suit hand-held bench and line work with a trigger grip. Singapore EMS plants, appliance assemblers and equipment builders choose the MD-Series when they need repeatable ±10% torque, multiple programs and a screw count per unit, with fastening records on the controller SD card for traceability. However, when the quality plan calls for the measured torque of each joint, step up to a transducerized ECT or EPT tool.
Pair it with
- Mountz MDC v2 controllers (required)
- MD-Series in-line electric screwdriver
- MD-Series right angle electric screwdriver
- MD-Series robotic electric screwdriver
- TPM torque process monitoring touch screen for MD-Series
- Bit socket tray for error-proofing
- torque control basics
- ESD and cleanroom screwdriver guide
Frequently asked questions about MD-Series pistol grip electric screwdrivers
Which controller runs MD-Series pistol grip screwdrivers?
The Mountz MDC v2 controller family. Match the controller model to the screwdriver model, because the controllers are rated per driver and are not interchangeable across series.
What torque range do the MD-Series pistol grip models cover?
The pistol grip MD family covers 1–49 N·m across its models. Choose the model whose band places your target torque near the middle of its range.
How does the MD-Series compare with the EC-Series?
Both are smart electric screwdrivers with screw counting and error-proofing. The MD-Series runs on the MDC v2 controller with SD-card data logging, while the EC-Series runs on the ECD controller. Neither carries a transducer; for measured torque per joint choose ECT or EPT.
Does the MD-Series record fastening data?
Yes. The MDC v2 controller stores fastening records on an SD card, and MountzCom III software, included with no annual licence fee, downloads and analyses them for traceability.
Can Phil Industries demonstrate the MD-Series pistol grip screwdriver in Singapore?
Yes. Phil Industries is an authorised Mountz distributor in Singapore. Our engineers can demonstrate the MD-Series pistol grip screwdriver on your line, help you select the model and controller, and quote the complete system. Set-Up
- Requires MDC Controller.
- Drive Adapter: This adapter changes the bit drive socket configuration from a ¼” drive to a 4mm HIOS drive or vice versa.
- I/O Cable for connecting the MDC Controller to the 44P I/O Wiring Box device.
Error-Proofing & Process Improvement
- Bit Socket Tray: An error-proofing solution minimizes the risk of errors by automatically selecting the correct torque according to the socket or bit selected. It connects to the MDC controller. It will improve productivity and reduce operator errors. Saves downtime by automatically changing program settings for multiple fastening strategies.
- Position Control Torque Arms: Equipped with position encoders, the position control torque arm is an error-proofing system that detects and eliminates costly screw-fastening errors during the assembly process. The poka-yoke system reduces the risks of improperly fastening screws, ensuring that every screw is correctly tightened in the correct sequence.
- Screw Presenter: Deliver up to two screws per second to a fixed point where a human or robotic operator picks them up, cutting production time in half.
- Mag-O-Nets: Magnetize a bit by sliding the Mag-O-Net onto the bit—commonly used with a screw presenter.
- Vacuum Adapter: The kit is mounted on an electric screwdriver with a suction head that holds the screw on the bit, enabling the operator to pick it up with the tool. This effective, time-saving device works with most fasteners—commonly used with a screw presenter.
Ergonomics
- Tool Balancers: Provides easy handling for operators that work with power tools for long, continuous hours. A balancer enables a tool to be positioned over the workstation and helps workers avoid fatigue which can lead to low productivity, mistakes, and injuries.
- Ergonomic Torque Arms: Providing ergonomic solutions for your assembly line workers lessens fatigue, prevents injuries, and boosts productivity. Torque arm absorbs the torque reaction generated by a power tool. Mountz offers various arm configurations for flexible and mobile workstation designs. The ergonomic torque arms improve employee safety.
- Tool Stand: Prevent damage to power tools from dropping. Convenient tool positioning – adjust both vertically and horizontally.
Service & Calibration
- Torque Analyzers & Sensors: If torque tools slip out of calibration, that could impact the quality of your products. Having an accurate way to test calibration onsite regularly is a great way to reduce risk. With Mountz torque analyzers and sensors, you can test tools before they go into service daily or weekly.
- Run-Down Adapters: It is used when testing power tools with a torque analyzer or sensor. The run-down adapter (RDA) is designed to provide consistent and reliable torque readings for power-driven torque control tools. An RDA reduces the impact and irregular peaks that cause poor repeatability. The device is mounted in-line between the tool drive and the transducer.
