Description
ESDpro C2060 is the lightest cloth in our range: a lightweight ESD fabric knitted from 96% polyester and 4% carbon fibre at only 100 gsm. We stock it for the layer under a cleanroom coverall and for light static-control garments where heat build-up is the main complaint. Phil Industries supplies it by the roll in white from Ubi, Singapore.
Why 100 gsm matters under a coverall
A cleanroom coverall traps heat, so the garment beneath it decides how long an operator stays comfortable. C2060 is a third lighter than a standard 150 gsm ESD knit, so a T-shirt made from it wicks and dries quickly instead of holding sweat against the skin. Despite the weight, the 4% carbon content keeps the fabric static dissipative, so the inner layer is not an insulating pocket inside an otherwise compliant garment system.
The polyester knit sheds very little lint, launders without shrinking and keeps its shape over hundreds of washes. In addition, because the conductive yarn is knitted in rather than coated, the anti-static property does not wash out.

Applications
Semiconductor, disk-drive and optics plants issue C2060 as the T-shirt or undergarment beneath coveralls, and electronics assemblers use it for light ESD tops in air-conditioned but warm halls. For a heavier polo-shirt weight, choose C2062 (3 mm diamond) or AF0634 (stripe) from the same knit family instead.
Frequently asked questions
Is 100 gsm too thin to be ESD-safe?
No. Static performance depends on the continuity of the conductive yarn, not on weight, and C2060 carries 4% carbon fibre through the cloth. In other words, it is thin by design, for comfort under a coverall.
Can it be worn as the outer garment?
In an EPA or a Class 10000 area, yes, typically as a T-shirt or polo while the operator wears a wrist strap. However, for the outer layer in tighter cleanroom classes, use a woven fabric from our range.
How should it be laundered?
Wash it as polyester knitwear on an industrial or cleanroom cycle, without fabric softener. Because the carbon is part of the knit, the anti-static property is permanent.
