Description
ESDpro AF0111 is a black silver fibre conductive fabric: a 165 gsm nylon knit with 10% silver fibre, which makes it conductive rather than merely static dissipative. Engineers use it where a garment or cover must ground quickly and reliably, for example grounding panels in lab coats, conductive liners and shielding patches. Why silver instead of carbon
Carbon yarns make a fabric dissipative, in the 10⁶ to 10⁹ Ω range, which is what most ESD garments need. Silver fibre goes much further: it makes the cloth conductive, so charge drains almost instantly and the fabric also attenuates electromagnetic interference. Therefore AF0111 is the cloth to reach for when a specification says conductive, not dissipative, or when a garment needs a low-resistance path to a grounding snap.
The nylon base is strong and abrasion-resistant, and the knit stretches, so panels sit flat inside a coat. In addition, silver has a natural antimicrobial effect, which helps garments that are worn for long periods between washes.

Frequently asked questions
Conductive or dissipative: which do I need?
Most garment specifications call for static dissipative cloth, which our carbon fabrics provide. Choose AF0111 when the specification says conductive, when you need a grounding panel, or when EMI shielding is part of the requirement.
Can a whole garment be made from it?
Yes, though it is usually used as panels or liners inside a dissipative garment, because a fully conductive garment must be grounded with care. Ask our engineers about the intended use before specifying it.
How should it be laundered?
Gently, on a low-temperature cycle without bleach or fabric softener, which attack the silver. The fibre is knitted in, so the property does not wash out under normal care.
