Description
ESDpro AF0086FS-S is a fluid-repellent stripe ESD fabric: our standard 99% polyester / 1% conductive-filament 5 mm stripe coverall cloth at 110 gsm, finished so that water-based splashes bead and run off. Wet-bench, plating and pharmaceutical filling areas use it where a plain coverall would soak through. Phil Industries supplies it by the roll from Ubi, Singapore, in white with other colours to order.
Why a repellent finish on the stripe cloth
Operators at wet benches, CMP tools and filling lines get splashed. A standard coverall absorbs the liquid, carries it to the next station and stays damp all shift. The finish on AF0086FS-S holds water-based splashes on the surface long enough to shake or wipe off, while the 5 mm conductive stripe underneath keeps the garment static dissipative. As a result, one coverall covers both the ESD and the splash requirement.
At 110 gsm the cloth stays light and breathable, and it launders on cleanroom cycles. In addition, the conductive filament is woven in, so only the finish, not the anti-static property, needs attention when you set the laundry programme.

Applications
Semiconductor wet-process bays, PCB plating lines, pharmaceutical and biotech filling suites and laboratories handling aqueous reagents use AF0086FS-S for coveralls and frocks. For the 5 mm grid version see AF0086FS; for dry areas the plain AF0060 stripe cloth is the economical choice.
Frequently asked questions
Is the repellent finish permanent?
It is durable but not indefinite. Repellency declines over many wash cycles, and fabric softener strips it faster, so launder without softener and re-test repellency during garment inspection.
Does the finish affect ESD performance?
No. The conductive filament sits in the weave beneath the finish, so garments still qualify when you test them to ANSI/ESD STM2.1 or IEC 61340-4-9.
Is it chemical-resistant?
It repels water-based splashes only. Because it is not a chemical barrier, use chemical PPE over it where solvents or acids are handled.
