Description
ESDpro C2062 is a diamond knitted ESD fabric: a 145 gsm polyester knit with 4% carbon fibre laid in a 3 mm diamond lattice. The diamond gives a dissipative path in every direction across the cloth. As a result, the knit is the natural choice for ESD polo shirts and uniform tops that operators wear all day. Phil Industries supplies it by the roll in blue from Ubi, Singapore, with other colours to order.
Why a 3 mm diamond lattice
A stripe conducts along one axis. A 3 mm diamond puts a conductive yarn across the fabric in two directions, so charge on any point of the garment has a short route to the rest of the cloth and on to the grounding point. With 4% carbon, C2062 carries more conductive yarn than the usual 1–2% woven fabrics. Therefore it suits garments that ground through a wrist strap rather than through a full coverall system.
At 145 gsm the knit is light and breathable, so it works in Singapore’s air-conditioned but still warm assembly halls. In addition, the polyester knit resists pilling and holds its colour through industrial laundering.

Applications
Garment makers cut C2062 into ESD polo shirts and uniform tops for PCB assembly, box-build, test and repair lines, and into static-control garments for warehouses handling sensitive components. It is an EPA workwear fabric, so for the outer garment in a classified cleanroom, pair it with one of our woven stripe or grid fabrics.
Frequently asked questions
Is a polo shirt in this fabric enough for an EPA?
For many EPAs, yes, provided the operator wears a wrist strap and the garment covers the arms as the site procedure requires. However, where the audit calls for a groundable static-control garment, we can make up jackets with a grounding snap from the same cloth.
How does it compare with the 96/4 stripe knit?
Both use the same yarn and weight, but the diamond version adds a cross-direction conductive path and a slightly denser look. So choose the diamond where the garment specification asks for a grid, and the stripe where cost or appearance favours it.
Does laundering affect the ESD performance?
No. Because the carbon fibre is part of the knit, the property is permanent. Still, avoid fabric softeners, because their residue changes surface resistivity readings during audits.
