Description
ESDpro AF0086FS-A is a blue autoclavable cleanroom fabric: 100% polyester at 110 gsm with a fluid-repellent finish and no conductive yarn. It is the cloth for garments in pharmaceutical, biotech and medical-device cleanrooms that are steam-sterilised between uses and must shed water-based splashes. Phil Industries supplies it by the roll from Ubi, Singapore.
Why an autoclavable, non-ESD cleanroom cloth
A sterile filling suite has no electrostatic-sensitive product, so a conductive yarn adds cost and one more thing to validate. What the suite needs is a low-lint polyester that survives repeated autoclave cycles and does not soak up spills. AF0086FS-A does both: the tight polyester weave holds particles in, and the repellent finish keeps water-based splashes on the surface. As a result, gowning stays dry and the garment lasts through the sterilisation programme.
Blue is the usual colour code for sterile-area gowns, so the cloth is easy to distinguish from white cleanroom coveralls. In addition, if an area later takes on ESD-sensitive work, the same base cloth is available with a conductive stripe as AF0086FS-S.

Is this an ESD fabric?
No. It has no conductive yarn. It is a dust-free, fluid-repellent cleanroom cloth for sterile and pharmaceutical areas. For static control choose the stripe or grid versions.
How many autoclave cycles will it take?
Polyester tolerates repeated steam sterilisation well, but the repellent finish declines with each cycle. Validate the garment life in your own programme and re-test repellency at inspection.
Can it be laundered normally between autoclaves?
Yes, on a cleanroom laundry cycle without fabric softener, which would strip the finish and leave residues that attract particles.
