Description
ESDpro AF0112 is a navy blue ESD fabric: a 145 gsm polyester knit with 4% carbon fibre in a 6 mm diamond lattice, 150 cm wide. Navy is the colour most plants pick for ESD coats and polo shirts that must look like a uniform, and the diamond lattice keeps the cloth at 10⁶ to 10⁸ Ω. Phil Industries supplies it by the roll from Ubi, Singapore, with other colours to order.
Why a 6 mm diamond on a dark knit
A diamond lattice conducts in two diagonal directions, so every point on a coat panel connects to the rest of the garment. On a dark ground the diagonal lines are almost invisible, which is why garment buyers prefer it to a white grid for uniforms. Because the carbon is knitted in, AF0112 keeps its 10⁶ to 10⁸ Ω reading through hundreds of washes.
The knit breathes and absorbs sweat, so a coat or polo made from it is comfortable in a warm assembly hall. In addition, the 150 cm width cuts coats and shirts with little waste.

Frequently asked questions
Is a dark fabric acceptable in an ESD programme?
Yes. Colour has no effect on static performance; AF0112 measures 10⁶ to 10⁸ Ω. Dark cloth is simply kept out of classified cleanrooms because contamination is harder to see.
Can garments be grounded through this fabric?
Yes. Coats and jackets can be fitted with a grounding snap and qualified under ANSI/ESD STM2.1 or IEC 61340-4-9. Test the finished garment as made.
How should it be laundered?
As polyester knitwear on an industrial cycle, without fabric softener. The carbon is knitted in, so the property is permanent.
