Description
ESDpro AF0029 is a pink ESD fabric with a 7 mm carbon grid: 98% polyester and 2% carbon fibre at 130 gsm, measuring 10⁶ to 10⁷ Ω. Plants that colour-code garments by department, shift or visitor status buy it alongside the blue, white, yellow and green versions of the same cloth. Phil Industries supplies it by the roll from Ubi, Singapore, with weights from 100 to 300 gsm to order.
Why colour-coded ESD garments, and why a 7 mm grid
Colour is the fastest way to tell at a glance who belongs in which area of a plant. Many plants use pink for visitors, trainees or a specific line, so that a supervisor can spot an unescorted person from across the floor. AF0029 lets that garment still be part of the ESD programme: the 7 mm carbon grid gives conductive paths in both directions and keeps the cloth at 10⁶ to 10⁷ Ω, the conductive end of the dissipative range.
The 130 gsm polyester base is light, low-linting and launders without shrinking. In addition, the same cloth is available in other colours and in 100 to 300 gsm weights, so a whole colour-coding scheme can be built on one fabric specification.

Applications
Electronics assembly plants and Class 1000 to 10000 cleanrooms use AF0029 for visitor and trainee smocks, department-coded jackets, and accessories such as ESD caps, sleeves and bags. Then buy the matching colours to build a complete colour-coding scheme on one fabric.
Frequently asked questions
Does the pink dye affect ESD performance?
No. The carbon-fibre grid provides the conductive path regardless of dye, and the cloth measures 10⁶ to 10⁷ Ω in every colour.
Is 7 mm grid as good as 5 mm?
Both provide two-direction conductive paths and both sit in the dissipative range. A 5 mm grid has slightly more conductive yarn per area. However, a 7 mm grid is the usual choice for coloured workwear, because cost and appearance matter more than the last decimal.
Can I get matching colours for a coding scheme?
Yes. We supply blue, white, yellow and green on the same 98/2 polyester base, and for volume requirements we can dye other colours to order.
