Description
ESDpro AF0109 is a white silver fibre ESD fabric: a 190 gsm polyester jacquard mesh knit with 3% conductive silver fibre. Silver drains charge faster than carbon, so laboratories and cleanrooms choose it for lab coats and workwear where a garment must ground quickly yet still look like a plain white coat. Why silver fibre in a white knit
Carbon yarn is black, so it always shows as a stripe or grid on a white cloth. Silver fibre is bright, so AF0109 reads as a plain white coat while still carrying a conductive path through the jacquard mesh. Because silver conducts far better than carbon, the garment drains charge quickly and grounds reliably through a snap or the wearer. As a result, it suits laboratories that want a clean appearance without giving up static control.
The jacquard mesh breathes and wicks, so a 190 gsm coat stays comfortable through a shift, and the polyester base launders without shrinking. In addition, silver has a natural antimicrobial effect, which helps garments worn for long periods.

Frequently asked questions
Is silver fibre better than carbon for ESD garments?
It drains charge faster and is invisible on white cloth. Carbon is cheaper and proven for standard coveralls. Choose silver where appearance or fast grounding matters, and carbon for high-volume coveralls.
Can garments in this fabric be qualified under ANSI/ESD S20.20?
Yes. Test the finished garment to ANSI/ESD STM2.1 or IEC 61340-4-9 as with any ESD garment; silver-fibre cloth typically reads at the conductive end of the acceptable range.
How should it be laundered?
On a gentle cycle without chlorine bleach or fabric softener, which attack silver. The fibre is knitted in, so the property does not wash out under normal care.
