The Mountz EPC-10 controller is the wireless brain of the EPT-Series transducerized cordless screwdriver system: one EPC-10 controller programs, monitors and records up to 8 EPT screwdrivers. Where the EPC-10 Controller fits in Singapore
On a Singapore assembly line the EPC-10 does the work that used to sit in a paper traveller. It holds 15 presets and 15 models of up to 20 steps each, shows operators step-by-step pictures on its touch screen, and stores every fastening result on an SD card with mean, standard deviation, Cp and Cpk. Because it offers digital I/O for PLC interlocks and reads the barcode scanner built into the EPT tool, it can select the right program per work order and block a unit that has a missing or under-torqued screw. Which tools work with the EPC-10 controller?
The EPC-10 works only with Mountz EPT-Series transducerized cordless screwdrivers, both pistol grip and right angle. One controller serves up to 8 tools at once.
Do I need one EPC-10 per screwdriver?
No. A single EPC-10 controller manages up to 8 EPT screwdrivers wirelessly, so one controller can cover a whole assembly cell.
What data does the EPC-10 record?
It stores torque, angle and result for every fastening on an SD card and calculates mean, standard deviation, Cp and Cpk on the controller. MountzCom III software, included at no annual licence fee, downloads and analyses the data.
Can the EPC-10 connect to my PLC or line control?
Yes. Digital I/O signals let the EPC-10 interlock with a PLC or line controller, for example to release a pallet only after all screws pass. The optional 44P I/O wiring box simplifies the wiring.
