Tubular ESD Rib Knit Cuff Fabric, 90% Polyester / 10% Carbon, Grey – ESDpro AF0119

Grey tubular ESD cuff: a circular rib knit of 90% polyester / 10% carbon fibre, surface resistivity 10⁶–10⁷ Ω, breathable and sweat-absorbing. Cut to length for seamless wrist and ankle cuffs on ESD coveralls and jackets. ESDpro AF0119, supplied by the roll from Ubi, Singapore.

Description

ESDpro AF0119 is a tubular ESD cuff fabric: the same 90% polyester / 10% carbon rib as our flat cuff cloth, but knitted as a continuous tube. Garment makers cut it to length and attach it without a side seam, which saves time on coverall production and removes a seam that could break the conductive path. Phil Industries supplies it by the roll from Ubi, Singapore, in grey.

Why a tubular rib for high-volume garments

A flat rib must be cut, folded and seamed into a ring before it goes on a sleeve. A tube skips that step, so a coverall line saves an operation on every cuff. Because there is no side seam, the cuff is smoother on the wrist and there is one less place for a stitch line to interrupt the 10⁶ to 10⁷ Ω path between operator and garment.

The 10% carbon content keeps the cuff at the conductive end of the dissipative range even when stretched, and the polyester rib recovers after hundreds of washes. In addition, the tricot knit breathes and absorbs sweat at the wrist.

Applications

Coverall and ESD jacket manufacturers use AF0119 for wrist and ankle cuffs on high-volume runs, and laundries use it to replace worn cuffs quickly. For a flat rib to cut and seam see AF0121; for a spandex stretch cuff see AF0040.

Frequently asked questions

Tubular or flat: which should I order?

Tubular for production runs where every seam costs time, flat where you need to match an unusual cuff height or sew the cuff into a placket. Both use the same 90/10 yarn and read the same resistivity.

Does the cuff need to be conductive?

Yes, if the garment grounds through the wearer. The cuff is the contact point, so AF0119 keeps it at 10⁶ to 10⁷ Ω.

How should it be laundered?

On the same cycle as the body fabric, without fabric softener. The carbon is knitted in, so the property is permanent.
