Description
ESDpro AFN001 is a plain dust-free cleanroom fabric: 100% polyester in a 110 gsm 1/2 twill with no carbon yarn. It is the cloth for cleanroom garments, equipment covers and curtains where the requirement is particle control rather than static dissipation, for example in pharmaceutical, medical-device and food facilities. Phil Industries supplies it by the roll in white from Ubi, Singapore, with other colours to order.
When you do not need the carbon yarn
Every carbon-striped cleanroom fabric in our range starts from a cloth like this one. Leaving the conductive yarn out makes the fabric cheaper and uniform in colour, and for a pharmaceutical or medical cleanroom that has no electrostatic-sensitive product, that is the right trade. The tight 100 denier twill still sheds very few particles, and the fabric registers a friction charge under 200 V on its own, which keeps it from attracting dust.
It is shrink-resistant and tear-resistant, so coveralls hold their size through the cleanroom laundry cycle, and it passes air at about 30 cc/cm²/s for wearer comfort. If your room later takes on ESD-sensitive work, the same cloth is available with a 5 mm stripe as AF0060.

Applications
AFN001 is used for coveralls, frocks and hoods in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical-device and food cleanrooms, for laboratory gowns, and for low-lint covers, curtains and wipe-down cloths in controlled areas. Choose the striped or grid versions if the room also handles ESD-sensitive product.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an ESD fabric?
No. AFN001 has no conductive yarn. It is a low-lint cleanroom fabric for particle control. If you need static dissipation as well, order AF0060 (5 mm stripe) or AF0080 (5 mm grid), which are the same base cloth with carbon yarn woven in.
What cleanroom class is it suitable for?
Class 1000 to 10000 (ISO 6 to 7) as a laundered garment fabric. Garment design, laundering and gowning procedure decide the final result as much as the cloth does.
Does it shrink in laundering?
It is shrink-resistant polyester and holds its dimensions on standard cleanroom wash cycles. Avoid fabric softeners, which leave residues that attract particles.
